When does the Nursery open?

At Mini Bees Nursery in Hackney, we are dedicated to providing convenient childcare options for working parents. Our nursery operates from Monday to Friday, with extended opening hours from 7:30am to 6:30pm. Please note that we are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays. For any additional nursery closures, we encourage you to refer to our annual calendar, which can be conveniently downloaded from our website’s homepage.

If my child attends part time, can I book additional sessions?

At Mini Bees Nursery, we adhere to stringent staff-to-child ratios to ensure the utmost safety and quality care for each child. As a result, we have limited availability at any given time. However, we understand that there may be instances where additional time is required. We encourage you to kindly reach out to our Nursery Manager to discuss your specific needs and inquire about potential availability. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we will make every effort to accommodate your requests.

Can I ask a staff member to baby-sit for me?

At Mini Bees Nursery, we prioritize the safety and well-being of both our staff members and the children in our care. Therefore, we strictly prohibit any arrangements for staff members to provide babysitting services outside of our nursery setting. It is important to note that such arrangements are not endorsed or facilitated by the nursery. Consequently, Mini Bees Nursery does not assume any responsibility or liability for any actions or events that may occur outside of our premises. Our commitment remains focused on delivering exceptional childcare within our dedicated and secure environment.

What do I do if my child is sick?

In adherence to regulations set forth by Social Services, our licensing/regulatory authority, we regret to inform you that if your child is unwell with a communicable illness, we are unable to admit them into our nursery while they are contagious. As we prioritize the health and well-being of all children in our care, we do not have a designated sick room. In such circumstances, it is crucial to have alternative arrangements in place for the care of your child, such as engaging the assistance of a grandparent or trusted friend. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a healthy environment for all children at Mini Bees Nursery.

If I am concerned about my child, can I ring the nursery?

We value open and effective communication with parents/carers, and we are pleased to welcome telephone calls at any time. Should you have any questions or inquiries, please feel free to contact us at your convenience by dialing 0203 4755514. Our dedicated team will be happy to assist you.

Who can collect my child from the nursery?

At Mini Bees Nursery, we value your trust and understand the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of your child. While we are open to accepting nominations for individuals authorized to pick up your child, it is essential to notify us in advance and provide a designated password. Without prior notification and the provision of a password, we will not release your child into their care. This precautionary measure is in place to maintain the highest level of security and safeguard your child’s welfare.

What happens if my child does not settle?

At Mini Bees Nursery, we recognize that every child has their own unique settling-in journey. Due to our nurturing approach has consistently facilitated a smooth transition for all children in our care, we never had any instance when the child won’t settle in the nursery. While it is uncommon for a child to experience difficulty settling, we understand that the excitement of new surroundings and interactions with peers can greatly assist in the process. Should we ever have any concerns about your child’s settling, we will proactively discuss them with you. Likewise, we encourage you to openly communicate any concerns you may have, as we firmly believe that together we can overcome any challenges that may arise. Our collaborative approach fosters a positive and supportive environment, ensuring your child’s seamless adjustment.

Do I pay fees for when my child is not at nursery?

At Mini Bees Nursery, we operate on a year-round basis, and therefore fees are payable for all 52 weeks of the year. We strive to provide consistent and uninterrupted childcare services to meet the needs of our families throughout the year. 

When and how are fees paid?

At Mini Bees Nursery, we have a straightforward and efficient fee payment system in place. Fees are to be paid one month in advance and must be cleared before the beginning of each month, ensuring seamless financial arrangements. To accommodate your convenience, we accept various payment methods, including cash, bank transfers, and standing orders. We value transparency and aim to provide flexibility in meeting your payment preferences. 

Can I bring food or confectionery items to the nursery for the children?

We only permit the inclusion of food or sweets for special celebrations, specifically on occasions such as your child’s birthday. However, for the safety and well-being of all children, we kindly request that you consult with our dedicated staff members prior to bringing any food or sweets as we do not give children any sugary food. This precaution allows us to ensure that no child is exposed to any substances that may pose harm. At Mini Bees Nursery, we prioritize the health and safety of our little ones.

Is it necessary to label all of my child's clothing?

Indeed, it would be greatly appreciated if you could label your child’s clothing. While our staff members make every effort to keep each child’s belongings separate, there may be instances where items can inadvertently become mixed up. By labeling your child’s clothing, it allows us to swiftly identify and return it to you without any delay. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly valued as we strive to provide a seamless and organized experience at Mini Bees Nursery.

What should I do if I anticipate being late to collect my child?

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we understand that delays can occur. Rest assured, in emergency situations, we will ensure that our staff members remain available to care for your child. However, it is crucial that you promptly inform us of your situation so that we can make necessary arrangements in a timely manner. Your immediate communication allows us to maintain a safe and secure environment for your child at Mini Bees Nursery.

What items should I provide for my child at the nursery?

We are here to assist you with all necessary equipment. Our dedicated team will provide guidance on what is required for your child’s care. Generally, this includes personal items such as nappy rash creams, a change of clothing, and sun protection cream. We strive to ensure that your child’s needs are met while in our care at Mini Bees Nursery.

Will I be notified if my child sustains an injury?

Absolutely, we have a strict policy to inform you of any injury, regardless of its severity. All incidents are diligently recorded in the Famly App, detailing the nature of the accident, the resulting injury, the administered treatment, and the staff member involved. To ensure transparency and your satisfaction with the handling of the situation, you will be asked to review and sign the entry. At Mini Bees Nursery, we prioritize communication and accountability, ensuring that you are promptly informed and involved in your child’s well-being.

If I need to modify my child's attendance schedule, how can I proceed?

It is possible to make changes to your child’s attendance pattern, provided there is a permanent vacancy on the desired days. To assist us in accommodating your request, we kindly ask for a minimum notice period of 5 weeks. (in writing). In the event that this notice period cannot be met, please make it a priority to notify us as soon as possible. It is important to note that immediate changes may not always be possible due to staff-to-child ratios. However, rest assured that We will make every effort to assist you promptly.

Do you have policies regarding nursery procedures?

Absolutely! We have comprehensive policies in place, and we warmly welcome parents/carers to review them. To access our policies, kindly reach out to our dedicated Nursery Manager, who will be delighted to provide you with the necessary information. At Mini Bees Nursery, transparency and open communication are key in ensuring that you are well-informed and confident in our procedures.
